F. Richard Wilton Jr., Inc. was established in 1953 as a
lathing and plastering contractor.  Estimating by night and
working in the field by day, Mr. Wilton's company grew
rapidly.  Ultimately, the budding company had offices in
Richmond and Norfolk, working the entire state of
Virginia, parts of North Carolina and West Virginia with
over 600 employees.

As new products were introduced to the industry, many
were incorporated into Wilton's scope of work.  F.
Richard Wilton Jr., Inc. participated in many notable firsts
in the Richmond area including:

First EIFS application using the Dryvit Finish System
First thin coat plaster installation
First all metal stud and drywall partitions
First prefabricated panel shop
First installation of demountable partitions

Mr. Wilton retired from the company in 1994 and was
succeeded by his son-in-law, W. Scott Brannan, who
serves as president and his daughter, Melissa Wilton
Brannan, who serves as vice-president.
Continuing to insist on Mr. Wilton's ideal of construction excellence while demonstrating honesty, integrity and
commitment, the company has successfully transitioned into its second generation.  F. Richard Wilton has been
named Sub-Contractor of the Year by the Associated General Contractors of Virginia - Richmond district in both
2002 and 2007.

Scott supports the construction industry by serving on the Virginia State Board of the Associated General
Contractors, is the Treasurer of the Richmond District A.G.C., and serves on the board of The Builder's Exchange.
He is extremely involved in the community as well and gives his time by supporting Help Charities Inc. as a director,
is a board member of Child Savers and of Good Samaritan Ministries, and is a deacon at Glen Allen Baptist
Church.
